Sooji Toast | Rava Toast | Bread Suji Toast Recipe

Sooji Toast (सूजी टोस्ट) is a perfect and delicious breakfast and snack recipe made from sooji, curd, vegetables and bread. This crispy rava toast is a simple and quick recipe. It can be a good option for kid's lunchbox. This is so delicious and tasty that not only you even your kids will like it very much.

To make sooji toast, you just need sooji, curd, bread and vegetables like capsicum, carrot, beans, onion and tomatoes.  Mix all the ingredients and make a batter like uttapam batter and spread on bread slice. Toast them on a girdle or tawa. When toasted it gives out a grainy texture and wonderful aroma.

It can be served for breakfast, snacks or as a light meal.

Sooji Toast

Ingredients:

4 bread slices (white or brown)
½ cup Sooji (semolina or rava)
¼ cup Curd (yogurt)
¼ tsp. red chilli powder
Salt to taste
½ green capsicum (finely chopped)
1 medium Onion (finely chopped)
1 medium Tomato (finely chopped)
1 green chilli (finely chopped)
1 tsp oil for shallow frying

Instructions:

Take sooji, salt, curd and red chilli powder in a bowl. Mix well.
Add water to make a smooth and thick batter. Keep aside for 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes add chopped capsicum, onion, tomato and green chilli. Mix properly.


Now spread this batter on a bread slice.


Heat a nonstick pan or tawa on medium flame. Spread some oil. Place the slice over it.


When the bread side turns light golden color, turn over and cook from batter side. Pour some oil around it.


When batter side cooked well, turn again and cook till it become crispy.


Remove from tawa and serve with tomato ketchup and mint chutney.


Tips:

  • You may use white bread, brown bread or even multi grain bread for this recipe.
  • You may add any veggies like corn, cabbage or broccoli.
  • While spreading the batter over bread, do not spread it too thick otherwise it remain uncooked from the middle.
  • You can spread some cheese and sprinkle herbs over it.
